Rev. Fr. Isaac Agabi, a Catholic Priest who was kidnapped on
Sunday by armed Fulani herdsmen in Edo State, has escaped his abductors, Igbere
TV reports.
Igbere TV had reported that Agabi was kidnapped along
Auchi-Igarra road at about 5.00 pm, while on his way back to the parish.
Agabi is the Rev. Fr. in charge of Holy Name Catholic
Church, Ikpeshi, in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.
Igbere TV gathered that the Rev. Fr. escaped from his
abductors in the early hours of Tuesday 19/6/2019 barely 48 hours after he was
kidnapped.
The Director of Communication of the Holy Name Catholic
Church, Fr. Peter Egielewa, who confirmed the development, said no ransom was
paid to secure the release of Rev. Fr. Agabi.
He said the Rev. Fr. escaped from his abductors when they
slept off in the night.
